SFA Hosts Inspiring Open Day Event

On April 4th, 2024, SME Founders Association (SFA) welcomed an enthusiastic gathering of entrepreneurs to its Open Day event at The United Kenya Club. Attendees, representing diverse industries, eagerly embraced the opportunity to network, learn, and engage with a distinguished panel of speakers.

The panel, comprising Jeremy Rugunya, President of Founders Network; Barbra Kingori, President of Founders Profit Academy; and Norah Mboya, President of Communications at Fresco Flair, shared invaluable insights throughout the day. Under the masterful guidance of Frida Owinga, SFA’s Founder and Partnership Director, the event commenced with an inspirational message encouraging founders to cultivate resilience and respond purposefully to life’s challenges.

Participants then engaged in thought-provoking group discussions, exploring the characteristics of an ideal network and strategies to support its members. From these discussions emerged a vision for a network that is innovative, transparent, and proactive in advocating for industry interests. Attendees also emphasized the importance of collaboration, accountability, and knowledge-sharing among network members.

During the panel discussion moderated by SFA’s Executive Director, Velona Oketch, Jeremy Rugunya highlighted the valuable contributions of SFA’s stakeholders and partners, including Enwealth, in supporting members’ access to funding and international opportunities. Barbra Kingori underscored the transformative impact of Founders Profit Academy’s Grow, Scale & Thrive program in mentoring entrepreneurs towards their business goals.

Norah Mboya emphasized the significance of effective communication in building successful businesses, offering practical tips for engaging and resonating with target audiences. Founders seeking to enhance their communication and leadership skills were encouraged to join Business Dialogues, an SFA Toastmasters club tailored for entrepreneurs.

The event concluded with heartfelt gratitude extended by Clement Orwa, SFA’s Community Director, to all participants and contributors. As SME Founders Association continues to empower and support entrepreneurs, events like these serve as invaluable platforms for learning, collaboration, and growth.
